Our Team
You expect your hair stylist to tailor your cut and color to your face, your desires and your lifestyle. That's an expectation that all of our stylists meet. You're also looking for someone who understands style and knows how to interpret current styles for you, so you look fresh, in style, but still look like you. Ever wondered how one of those sexy, wavy blowouts would look on you? Tempted by one of the face-flattering shorter styles? Would you like to see what a few, perfectly-placed, face-framing highlights would do? All of our stylists excel at these skills. Below are our stylists’ bios, to help you learn a little bit more about us and what we can do for you beyond the expected.
Allie
Allie is a senior stylist and our salon manager. Working 6 years at Caju, she is a master colorist and excels at tough formulations, from red heads feeling faded to brunettes and blondes fighting brassy, yellowy color. Right now, Allie loves creating soft, beachy waves and helps clients change up their looks by trying out fresh styling techniques. Allie’s pastimes include painting and other art projects, and she holds a degree from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology. She also loves spending time with her husband and her young nieces and will happily practice her hand at beginners conversational Spanish, given half a chance.
April
April is a senior stylist, the first stylist to join Caju when we opened our doors in 2003. She has 13 years of experience, and some of her career highlights include training under a national platform artist to Vidal Sassoon, training with Harry Josh (supermodel Gisele’s hair stylist), Lawrence Martinez from Butterfly Studio, and Adrian Wallace at The Rita Hazan Salon in NYC. She has a passion for natural-looking highlights and beautifully soft and elegant cuts. She also wields a stunning short cut, clearly evident in her men’s cuts. April’s pastimes include art and music.
Ashley
Ashley, with 4 years of experience, is a talented stylist creating warm and beautiful styles for her clients. Drawn to artistic pursuits like hair, art and dance, she loves a little funk for her own look, but her clients flock to her for her sexy, wavy hair with lots of “I was just born with it” body. Ashley turns out natural, buttery color and soft, sophisticated cuts. Wish we could say the same for her jokes!
Emily
Two years ago, our owner, Patricia, ran into some friends and noted their beautiful cuts and color. Their stylist, they said, was named Emily, and Patricia said "tell Emily to call me". Over the course of the following year, Patricia ran into these friends and others who looked fantastic under Emily's care, and each time, Patricia asked her friends to tell Emily to call her. One day, Patricia came into Caju and noticed a beautiful haircut and color on a lovely client in Ashley's chair. Patricia complimented Ashley's beautiful work and Ashley responded, "Thanks. This is my friend, Emily. She's a stylist" and Emily turned around and said "I always come to Caju, I go to Ashley." Finally, two years later, Emily is working at Caju. Call her, she does beautiful work.
Jordan
Going into her 4th year at Caju, Jordan has built a loyal following of cut and color clients. We love her for her sense of humor and her sweet demeanor, you’ll love her for the soft, natural and (seemingly) effortless, gorgeous styles she creates. Her hobbies include hiking, fishing, hanging out with her family and spending time on her family’s farm, where she learned how to milk goats. Surprisingly, she is scared of cows. We are sure there must be a story there.
KC
With 3 years of experience, KC has quickly attracted a loyal following at Caju. A true perfectionist, he loves connecting clients with styles that bring out their natural assets and complement their personalities and lifestyles. His work is natural, warm and beautiful and clients rave about his sense of humor (something we hadn’t noticed). KC’s pastimes include art, music and biking.
Natasha
Natasha moved to Chapel Hill from Greenwich, CT, where she perfected the arts of buttery, soft highlights and chic cuts. She loves fashion and color, and has a great eye for bringing out her clients' natural assets. Our clients love her soft, glamorous blowouts and styles, we love her sophisticated yet sexy style and fun attitude.
Jordie
Our youngest stylist, Jordie has an excellent eye for style, resulting in super-flattering cuts and color. She has a knack for highlights and men's cuts, and a sweet, fresh style of her own. But don't let her innocent demeanor fool you into thinking that's all there is to her: Jordie has a surprisingly sophisticated sense of humor and is quick with a comeback. Especially when it concerns her cats...
Miriah
Our esthetician Miriah is beloved for her brows and is quickly building a loyal following for her top-notch skincare. She joined Caju because she is as serious about skincare as we are, and every day we see the difference she makes in our clients' skin. Miriah is equally serious about fitness and nutrition, and about coaching her daughter's soccer team. If you have any doubts about what regular skin maintenance can do for you, just ask Max, our receptionist. He's become an avid microdermabrasion fan, and his skin actually glows through his stubble...
